Missing Plotter and Printer Fix

If you cannot see the printer you need you can manually add it…

A print queue bug may stop the correct printers showing up on your PC automatically. You can either logout and restart the machine, or alternatively perform the following steps allow you to re-add any missing printers / plotters

Click the WINDOWS button and type GM-PS-N then hit enter

This will give you a list of lots of printers – type “DST” in the search box in the upper right hand corner to narrow this down to our printers

From this list double click the printer you need; this will reinstall it to your machine.

If you need the MFD A3/A4 laser printer then type in “MFD” in the search box (instead of MFD) and double click to install the printers “GM-MFD-STU” and GM-MFD-STU-COLOUR :

Architecture work left over from the End of Year Show will be stored in the racks in 1010 and shelves beside 1015.  Landscape work will be on the shelves in 1019.  Please note that any work or portfolios still here in October will be recycled / disposed of.

RIBA portfolios are available for collection from the third floor.

Studio Opening Hours During Exhibition

For the duration of the End of Year Exhibition there will be restricted access to the studio spaces. The exhibition runs from Thursday 15th June – Monday 2nd July. There is no access for studio activities in the open studios. There is restricted access to the computer spaces between 9.30 – 4.30 Monday – Friday.  Please note there will be machine upgrading taking place so there is likely to be disruption.  The library computing facilities are available throughout there summer.

Save Paper when printing to A2

Currently the Colourwave Plotter will cut an A1 area of paper even when you send an A2 – so around 30% of paper is wasted.

Until we can put a server side fix in place you can make a tweak yourself to stop this happening.

In the plot dialogue / print settings for these queues:

  • Standard-plot-dst-cw700-q1
  • Premium-plot-dst-cd700-q3
  • Ptype4-Plot-dst-CW700-Q4
  • Ptype5-Plot-DST-CW700-Q5
  • Ptype6-Plot-DST-CE700-Q6

select ADVANCED – scroll down to CUT METHOD – set this to PRINTER DEFAULT

Then only the height of an A2 is rolled out.
