Life Drawing

Life drawing is a foundational practice in the art and design disciplines, focusing on the observation and representation of the human form. In the School’s life drawing class, students engage with live models to enhance their skills in anatomy, proportion, and composition.

This immersive experience fosters a deeper understanding of movement and expression, allowing students to develop their own artistic voice. By honing their ability to capture the nuances of the human body, participants gain invaluable insights that are applicable across various artistic mediums, making it an essential component of their creative education. These classes are optional classes open to all students and staff in the school – join us to refine your technique and explore the dynamic interplay between observation and imagination.

In our life drawing class, maintaining a respectful and supportive environment is essential for everyone involved. Participants are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism and courtesy, treating models, instructors, and fellow students with kindness and respect. This includes refraining from any inappropriate comments or actions, as well as respecting the model’s comfort and boundaries. Mobile phones should be silenced to minimise distractions, and students are encouraged to provide constructive feedback in a supportive manner.

By fostering a positive atmosphere, we ensure that all participants can fully engage with the creative process and benefit from this enriching experience.
