Memory Errors

If you get these errors, it is likely that Riverbed Modeler is trying to simulate too many events. In order to resolve this issue there are two methods you can try to reduce the number of events, and this should allow you to run the simulation.

1. Reducing the number of events

On the dialog that appears when you select ‘DES > Configure/Run Discrete Event Simulation’, you need to reduce the number of events listed under ‘Update Interval’, preferably to 5,000 or less. You can also reduce the duration of the simulation. Please see the attached screen shot, the values you need to change are in the red circle.

2. Reducing the duration of the simulation

Within the same dialog window, you can also reduce the duration of the simulation. Please see the attached screen shot, the values you need to change are in the red circle. This will reduce the virtual memory requirements of the model. In the General tab please ensure you use the SFTP protocol when creating a connection to stu-ftp.cms.gre.ac.uk:
