Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection new releases

This month’s releases to the collection include a significant expansion of the Obesity: science, medicine and society series to include talks discussing the definition of obesity, its epidemiology and multiple aspects of its physiology. The new lectures cover adipose tissue biology, the link between obesity and the hedonistic response, and the metabolic interplay between a host and the gut microbiota. Also, Dr Thomas Barber from University of Warwick reviews several issues specifically related to women’s health.

This month’s new releases to the Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection include a new mini-series on Future Directions in Therapeutic Intervention, Diagnostics and Prophylactics. As the development of new treatments and diagnostic tools requires a lot of effort and a lot of money, it is important to consider numerous factors before choosing to pursue a specific research path. This new series, containing five lectures delivered by experts from the pharmaceutical industry, presents a range of future directions for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, their promises and pitfalls.

Science Classic

Science Classic Provides access to the digitized full text archives of Science from its first issue in 1880 to 1996. We can access all free science content on the site, including table of contents, abstracts and summaries for all Science, Science Classic, Science Signaling, Science Translational Medicine and SAGE KE issues. 


Science online supporting material, such as podcasts, videos, and interactive content, Science Technical Comments, ScienceCareers.org, Science News, including Science NOW articles (published within the past four weeks) and Science Insider policy articles/commentary is also included.

New HeinOnline Law Journal Library

We now have access to the HeinOnline Law Journal Library. It comprises over 2,000 law and law-related periodicals. Coverage is from the first issue published for all periodicals and up to the most-currently published issues allowed based on contracts with publishers. 

Search by article title, author, subject, state or country published, full text, and narrow by date.
