IEEE/IET Electronic Library get started guide

New to IEEEXplore? Get help on searching the IET Electronic Library by viewing or downloading this short PDF guide. The resource is now available from the Databases, Journals and e-books link in the Library & Computing tab in the University portal. Other guides are available from the IEEE website.

IEEE/IET Electronic Library (IEL)

Students, staff and researchers in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences and the School of Engineering will be pleased to know that we have a new subscription to the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) full text journals, conference proceedings, and active standards via IEEEXplore. 

Subject coverage includes electrical engineering, computer science, and related technologies. There is a backfile to 1872 for select titles as well as INSPEC abstract / citation and bibliographic records.

You can access it on and off campus via the University portal with your computer ID and password.

  • Select the My Learning / Learning support page
  • In the Search the Libraryportlet select the Online databases and academic journals link
  • On the next page the eresources are arranged alphabetically by title
  • Select the letter ‘I’ of the alphabet at the top of the list or scroll down and select IEEE/IET Electronic Library (IEL) to be transferred into the resource.
  • On the IEEEXplore screen select the Athens / Shibboleth Sign In link from the menu on the left
  • Enter Greenwichin the text box and select the search button
  • Select either the University of Greenwich – OpenAthens link.
