The gaming society formed by the students in cooperation with DarrenLloyd Gent organise game nights on Thursday evenings. It is a space for students of different backgrounds to socialize while playing computer games but also discuss aspects of game design. The society has currently 36 members attending a variety of courses and meeting every week. According to the students, the society offers them an opportunity to network with people who they otherwise wouldn’t have had an opportunity to meet. It gives them a chance to socialize in an environment that they feel comfortable in and also gives them a chance to collaborate on projects together.
Student comments:
“It’s easy to socialize when playing games.”
