Michelle Kossowski – Student Sustainability Marketing & Projects Assistant 25/26
Michelle started her journey with us for when she first joined the university. She became one of the very first Green Ambassador Volunteers, volunteering on our clothes swap project (read about that volunteering experience here) and in the same year also participated in the London Student Sustainability Conference. After the jobshop became available in 2025, she applied, and was recruited into the position.
She’s championed the Clothes Swap project, making it bigger than ever, whilst creating exciting content for a range of supporting projects. Don’t just accept our words however, let Michelle tell you about her own journey and what she did whilst working with us.
Daniela Danzerova – Student Sustainability Marketing & Projects Assistant 23-25
Daniela started her journey with us in the summer of 2023 and stayed with us for two years as she graduated and then completed her masters.
Her legacy was the shaping of the job as you see it today. From a marketing background, she managed our social media accounts and it soon became clear that we needed student-to-student engagement with content becoming a bigger assert. She also helped to make End of Term Reuse even larger.
Listen to Daniela’s own story and the projects she worked on when she was with us.
Sophie Elliot – Student Sustainability Projects Assistant 21-23
Sophie started the position, after volunteering on our Fairtrade campaign. She worked on a diverse range of projects; from assisting to our Fairtrade and Hedgehog Friendly Campus accreditations to leading on our End of Term Reuse campaign.
“I was a second-year student at Greenwich studying Business with Finance, but also worked as a paid JobShop student for the Sustainability team as a projects assistant.
I have learnt a huge amount, not only about sustainability but also on how a business functions day to day. I have gained skills in communication, being a part of and leading on meetings. The biggest lesson I have learnt through the job however is, how important sustainability is for all our futures, no matter what we do. It has confirmed my goals to want to work in sustainability in my future job and it has highlighted to me how important it is to have sustainability as a priority in everyone’s personal and working lives. Check out my piece on the Student Pad website – the site for private renting but also improving sustainability.”
