The future ain’t what it used to be: inventing and re-imagining higher education practice

The future ain’t what it used to be, uttered by the imitable Yogi Berra in 1974 who explained its meaning that times are different. Not necessarily better or worse. Just different. This year, APT 2017 is focused on reimagining higher education in the face of a rapidly changing and sometimes chaotic environment.

We invite contributions from people who are imagining and making the futures of higher education. People who are pushing boundaries, evolving teaching and learning practices, developing new curricula, creating new collaborations or markets, analysing big data. People who are addressing the challenges arising from the requirements of a digital society, an emerging global economy and from the complex competitive world of the university, internationally.

We seek contributions from practitioners, researchers, professional services staff and students on innovative (co-)curriculum, transformative approaches to learning, participatory approaches to teaching, learning, assessment and experience, and projects that have been designed to reimagine education, so that we can create a sustainable and viable environment for our institutions.

As always, the conference will provide an exciting opportunity to network with colleagues across the UK and abroad at the historic Maritime Greenwich Campus, a World Heritage site.
