Xerte anyone? Developing interactive content for Moodle.

Tutors are struggling to make Moodle learner friendly or to use the platform imaginatively. This is largely because there is no way to organise links to activities effectively: you cannot structure well (only list & indent), you cannot provide a narrative or clear instructions (labels are cumbersome, inadequate and display content on the main navigation page). I have been looking into suitable tools for content development. Rather more demanding than Create (CourseGenie) or Softchalk (cost) is Xerte, developed by the University of Nottingham. This is free to download and a number of toolkits have been developed to support it. I have been in touch with Nottingham to discuss putting on a workshop; to make this feasible we would need a group of participants to spread the cost. Several members of M25 group are keen – would anyone from Greenwich be interested? Please contact me or leave a comment here if so.
