Draft Collection Policy

Have your say on how we build your Library Collections

Library Services are in the process of developing a collections policy that describes how we build and maintain your learning resources. Our collections comprise of print and electronic resources including books, journals, and databases.

We want your input on whether you feel our policy:

  • Reflects the type of library collection you expect from us;
  • Offers transparency on how we develop our collections;
  • Outlines our processes in a clear, jargon free manner.

Please take a look at our consultation policy and email your comments, thoughts or criticisms to Cathryn Peppard (c.e.a.peppard@gre.ac.uk) or Nadine Edwards (n.c.edwards@gre.ac.uk).

We are also happy to meet with people in person or arrange to discuss your thoughts over the phone.

MyiLibrary migration to Ebook Central

MyiLibrary is moving to Ebook Central on Wednesday 25th April 2018.

Why is MyiLibrary moving?

Ebook Central (owned by ProQuest), acquired the MyiLibrary platform and will be moving all of the titles we have purchased on to Ebook Central.

MyiLibrary Notes

If you have saved MyiLibrary Notes in your MyiLibrary Account these will NOT be migrated to Ebook Central. See the PDF document on this page which explains how to save your MyiLibrary Notes before the migration on Wednesday 25th April 2018.

You will not be able to access your MyiLibrary Notes after Wednesday 25th April 2018 but you will be able to create new notes in Ebook Central.

To find out how to save your notes please see the instructions on LibGuides

MyiLibrary Accounts and Bookshelves

MyiLibrary accounts and bookshelves will not be migrated to Ebook Central. You can easily create a new account on Ebook Central and create new bookshelves.

Can I access the same books as before?

There is nothing you need to do as all MyiLibrary titles will be redirected to Ebook Central allowing you to access the books as normal.

How do I access Ebook Central?

There will be links to e-books in the LibrarySearch title record. Alternatively you can search and browse Ebook Central on and off campus via the portal.

Once logged into the university portal you should select the My Learning/Learning Support page and then the Online databases and academic journals link in the Search the Library portlet. On the next screen scroll down and select Ebook Central from the alphabetical list.
