World Digital Library

The World Digital Library (WDL) provides a free online resource of culturally significant primary materials from countries and cultures around the world of use to historians, and academia. The content is in a variety of formats and languages, from different places and time periods including manuscripts, maps, rare books, recordings, films, prints, photographs, architectural drawings, and other types of primary sources.

Community Care Inform



Community Care Inform is an online reference tool for those working with children, young people and families. It contains guides to key policies, legislation and case law as well as social care practice guides. A username and password is required – please ask at the Library enquiry desk or contact OSCARS for off-campus support.



To access the resource, log into the portal:

Click on the My learning / Learning support page

In the Search the Library portlet select the Online databases and academic journals link

On the next page the resources are listed alphabetically.

Click on the letter of the alphabet for the resource or scroll down in the list and click on Community Care Inform

Accessing Science Direct

If you have not registered with the Science Direct eresource at the university you will need to complete the Science Direct registration form which is displayed before directing you to the search screen to download articles. The Science Direct Athens Username Activation blog post provides more details.


Continuing students should enter the username and password from last year to reactivate their Athens username and password for this session.
