Team

We are an international team of linguists who study language and its development in different populations: typically developing multilinguals and monolinguals, affected by language disorders with or without learning disabilities, deaf or hard of hearing or in social disadvantage.

We have been funded by the University of Greenwich and the Netherlands Institute of Advance Study (NIAS) of the Dutch Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) together with the Lorentz Center at Leiden University.  Our workshop at Lorentz gathered 60+ researchers from 10 countries across linguistics, speech and language therapy, health economics, paediatrics, education, sociology, with policy advisors (e.g., Education Endowment Foundation, Royal College Speech Language Therapy) and stakeholders, professionals and parent associations. The input from the participants was collated by the ATLAS team and collaborators in the Manifesto.
