This lecture will discuss the procurement and construction of the new Stockwell Street building for the University of Greenwich, covering issues such as the University as client, the design process, urban design concepts, design features in detail, and the possibilities opened up by the Stockwell Street terraced roof gardens.

Adele Brooks is a qualified Architect with over 5 years’ post graduate experience and 5 years’ UK experience practicing for Conran and Partners in London. She also has a Masters in Project Management with Distinction from the University of Greenwich. Adele started work with the University in 2009 when she commenced working on the Stockwell Street project, and is currently the Estate Development Manager for the University of Greenwich.

Glenn O’Brien studied Architecture at University College Dublin where he graduated in 2001. Glenn worked at Hofman Dujardin Architects and Architectenbureau Art Zaaijer in Amsterdam before returning to Dublin and joining heneghan.peng.architects in 2006. Since 2009 he has been project leader for heneghan.peng on the new Stockwell Street building for the University of Greenwich.

Benz Kotzen is Course Co-ordinator of postgraduate Landscape programmes at the University of Greenwich Department of Architecture and Landscape. Benz leads the Sustainable Landscape Research group, and is a Consultant Landscape Architect with a particular interests in green roofs, living walls, urban agriculture, aquaponics and noise/sound in the landscape.
