For a trial period we shall be offering free laser cutting on a Monday for small (below 15 minutes) laser cutting jobs – this does NOT include cost of material (although materials from the scraps cage are free).

The laser cutter room will be manned by a student operator from 10.00 – 13.00 / 14.00 – 16.30.  This is a non pre-bookable, walk-in service only (though the operator will maintain a sheet of the day’s slots).

This Monday arrangement requires students to bring their Adobe Illustrator file already prepared; the operator will check the file to see if it will work and to see how long it will take to run – unsuitable files or jobs that will take over 15 minutes will not be processed. In summary:

• Mondays [term time]: 10.00 – 13.00 and 14.00 – 16.30
• Maximum lasercut job time 15 minutes
• Cutting is free, materials must be purchased
• Standard, approved materials only – nothing experimental
• Correctly prepared / sized Adobe Illustrator files only

Laser cut jobs falling outside these conditions will need to be done on a different day.
