The Greenwich Project

The Greenwich Project is an innovative, longitudinal and reactive study of the residents of Greenwich.

Why Greenwich?

Greenwich is where we work and live. The University is part of the local community and seeks to engage with and understand the perspectives of the different groups it represents. The huge diversity of the Greenwich community means it is uniquely positioned to share its views on local and national level changes and how these impact people from differing backgrounds in real-time.

The aim of The Greenwich Project is to understand our Greenwich community better. We want to ask the community about their lives – how they live and work, what makes them happy or sad, and how they and their families thrive (or not) in Greenwich. We think then we will be able to better inform what locally and nationally will improve the lives of our local community.

How can you get involved in The Greenwich Project?

Take part in our survey

What does the survey involve?

  • The research team has designed a 20-30 minute survey around what Greenwich residents feel is important to them and whether they would be interested in being involved in future research opportunities.

What are the benefits of participating?

  • All participants will be reimbursed with a £10 Love2Shop gift voucher.
  • Participants will be contributing to a study that aims to understand the needs of the Greenwich Community better.

What do we hope to gain from this?

  • Understand what matters to the Greenwich people and how those things that matter, change over time.
  • Create a true picture of what it is like to live and work in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
  • Create future research opportunities that are accessible and will benefit Greenwich residents.

Take part in an interview

What will the interview involve?

  • The interview will last approximately 30-40 minutes and will be conducted either online or in person (based on your preference) with a member of our research team. We will discuss what interested you about this research and the best ways to encourage future participation.

What are the benefits of participating?

  • All participants will be reimbursed with a £40 Love2Shop gift voucher.
  • Participants will aid the development of our research.

What do we hope to gain from this?

  • A well-rounded perspective from the Greenwich residents regarding key aspects that should be included in future research (e.g., surveys), as well as how to maximise participant engagement.

Join our Advisory Board

What will the advisory board involve?

  • Joining our advisory board will involve working alongside the research team to inform the design of this project, the questions that we pose, and the focus that we take.
  • This will include 2-hourly advisory board meetings, which will be held every 6 months.

Please note this option would involve volunteering your time.
