3D Print Project by Grazina Pleckauskiene.

This is a model created on the 3d printer by Degree Architecture student Grazina Pleckauskiene.  What is interesting about the model is that Grazina has “treated” parts of the model with PVA Glue and then stained them with water and ink to give an interesting almost slate like finish – this contrasts with the white non painted parts.

The model is made up of modular elements that can be assembled and disassembled to show the internals of the design – these parts actually represent the voids of the building and the gaps between the parts represent the structure; i.e. two blocks are the empty spaces and the break between them is the wall.

To bundle the model up Grazina made a foldable card parcel that ties up with string, making it a neat and easy to carry little package.

Here are some photos of the 3d printer creating the parts of the model.

And here are some photos of the model after Grazina’s treatment.
