Attending the JBVI Entrepreneurship Academy 2024 was a transformative experience for Dr. Abdullah Ijaz (BOS), offering rich insights into building impactful research and valuable connections in the field of entrepreneurship. Over three days, he joined a cohort of researchers and mentors from diverse backgrounds, all dedicated to exploring meaningful research approaches.
The Academy encouraged participants to reflect deeply on their research’s purpose, starting with discussions on crafting questions that drive genuine understanding. This approach set the stage for open dialogue, allowing participants to share research challenges and learn from the experiences of both emerging and seasoned academics. The focus on generating impactful insights was a powerful reminder of the need to address questions with real-world significance.
A valuable aspect of the JBVI Entrepreneurship Academy was its emphasis on expanding our approach to framing research questions that resonate with social impact. Through discussions, feedback sessions, and workshops, we were encouraged to consider fresh theoretical angles and explore novel methods, which were incredibly relevant to my research on entrepreneurship in conflict settings.
The final day’s focus on translating insights into tangible outcomes highlighted the importance of designing research with long-term impact. Overall, the Academy provided a unique blend of academic rigor and practical application, and a renewed purpose in advancing research within the field of entrepreneurship.
