{"id":1999,"date":"2025-06-16T13:55:47","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T12:55:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/sound-image\/?p=1999"},"modified":"2025-06-30T17:07:27","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T16:07:27","slug":"sound-image-2025-call-for-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/sound-image\/2025\/06\/16\/sound-image-2025-call-for-works\/","title":{"rendered":"SOUND\/IMAGE 2025 Call for Works"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Reflecting Forwards<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6&nbsp;November &#8211; 9 November 202<\/strong>5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>University of Greenwich<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Concerts \/ <strong>Performances<\/strong><\/strong> \/ <strong> Screenings \/ Talks \/ Workshops \/ Installations<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We seek submissions that explore the diverse areas of sound \/ image practice and actively encourage applications from candidates of all ethnicities, backgrounds and genders, who are traditionally underrepresented.\u202fWe invite composers, filmmakers, artists, performers, architects to share their creative practice and research amongst a global community of artists and creatives working at the intersection of media.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, because we are keen to welcome innovators and foster the next generation of new practitioners, we will give special consideration to applications from students, apprentices and emerging artists.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Call for works:<\/strong>\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sound and Music\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Audiovisual\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Talks\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Workshops \/ Practical Demonstrations\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Live Performances\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Installations\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this 10<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the SOUND\/IMAGE festival we invite new and returning contributors to both showcase their research and critically reflect on the current and future state of creative practice research. Across this anniversary edition of the festival we will be asking:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How far have we come in the past ten-years?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Where do we want to be in ten years-time?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What does it mean to belong to an international community of scholarship in creative practice research?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How do we best connect our research to new audiences in a climate of ever evolving global challenges?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In what ways, can we advocate for the novel perspectives of practice research perspectives to make a difference to our fields and beyond the academy?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadline for submissions is\u202f<strong>Wednesday 9th July 2025 at 23:59 UTC+1<\/strong> <strong>[EXTENDED]. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All submissions will be considered by the festival panel.
