{"id":1914,"date":"2025-02-11T15:09:23","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T15:09:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/sound-image\/?p=1914"},"modified":"2025-02-11T15:11:35","modified_gmt":"2025-02-11T15:11:35","slug":"jo-hyde","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/sound-image\/2025\/02\/11\/jo-hyde\/","title":{"rendered":"Jo Hyde"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In preparation for his Sound\/Image Festival 2024 performance, Jo came and worked with our Digital Immersive Theatre exploring 360 video and 3D Sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joseph Hyde<\/strong>\u2019s background is in electroacoustic music, but his work has moved into diverse areas, incorporating a wide variety of stylistic influences, live electronics, audiovisual and immersive elements. He is a regular collaborator, usually with non-musicians: dancers, visual artists, technologists and scientists. He is an Emeritus Professor in Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University, and is currently engaged in a number of freelance projects exploring new combinations of immersive sound and image. Currently he is working full-time on the Celestial Live project (supported by InnovateUK), developing methods to fly drone light shows using interactive control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jo says &#8220;<em>I had a fantastic couple of days in the Bathway Theatre making a fully immersive (360 video, 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0order Ambisonic sound) of my Signal to Noise performance. It was very satisfying and extremely fun to expand my ideas on such a spectacular canvas.
