{"id":2300,"date":"2020-01-24T09:39:34","date_gmt":"2020-01-24T09:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/scholarsinspotlight\/?p=2300"},"modified":"2020-01-24T09:39:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T09:39:34","slug":"loudspeaker-orchestra-concert-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/scholarsinspotlight\/2020\/01\/24\/loudspeaker-orchestra-concert-series\/","title":{"rendered":"LOUDSPEAKER ORCHESTRA CONCERT SERIES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tuesday 28<sup>th<\/sup> January 2020, 7pm<\/strong> &#8211;  <strong>St<\/strong> <strong>Alfege Church, Greenwich<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nSchool of Design and the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences invite you to the next concert in the Loudspeaker Orchestra Concert\nSeries in the historic St Alfege Church.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/explore-ensemble.com\/\">Explore Ensemble <\/a>immerses instruments\nand audiences among a live 3D loudspeaker orchestra to present the London\npremiere of Natasha Barrett&#8217;s &#8216;Sagittarius A*&#8217; and rare modernist works\nreimagined with ambisonic technology .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explore Ensemble work at the radical frontiers of new music, offering audiences outstanding performances of internationally acclaimed composers, advocating music rarely heard in the UK, and working closely with composers on new works to foster a repertoire for the future. Described as &#8216;Indefatigably outstanding&#8217;, Explore Ensemble have featured at several editions of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival while performing alongside the EXAUDI Vocal Ensemble, as well as feature on BBC Radio 3, at London&#8217;s Principal Sound Festival, Cafe OTO, Kings Place, the Royal College of Music, and outside of London in Manchester, Leeds, Oxford, and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"569\" height=\"651\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/scholarsinspotlight\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/LO.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/scholarsinspotlight\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/LO.jpg 569w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/scholarsinspotlight\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2020\/01\/LO-262x300.jpg 262w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 569px) 100vw, 569px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/sound-image\/\">The Loudspeaker Orchestra <\/a>presents\nimmersive acoustic experiences through programmed concerts of multichannel\nsound design, sonic art and electroacoustic music.
