At the start of each academic year, every user on Moodle is granted viewing privileges on all current courses to reduce the number of access related queries that inevitable arise from e.g. incorrect enrollments, an incomplete registration and so on.
These privileges are automatically revoked on the 13th of October each year as by then every student should be properly registered and enrolled in the right courses.
If you don’t want other users to have this level of guest access to one or more of your courses prior to the aforementioned date, there is an easy way of disabling this.
- Open the correct course and under the ‘Course administration‘ tab and choose ‘Edit setting
- Under ‘Guest access‘ set ‘allow guest access‘ to ‘No‘ and click ‘Save changes‘ (fig. 2)
