Public Health students star in their first Harvard Hackathon Competition

The Greenwich Health Management Society recently participated in the sixth Harvard Hackathon held at King’s College London. The winning team featured two MSc Global Public Health student, Avni and Vaishnavi who successfully presented their pitch on this year’s theme of “Building High-Value Health Systems: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence”.

The Public Health Portfolio hosted an initial student-led debate on the topic, “Should AI Be Used to Make Medical Decisions in a Resource-Limited Settings?”, attended by 236 students from the MSc Global Public Health and MSc Global Health Management programmes. Following the debate, students from both programmes were invited by the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab to participate in the London Hub of their sixth annual Hackathon.

Avni and Vaishnavi will now compete globally with the winning teams from other hubs around the world, including Argentina, Bangladesh, China, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Türkiye and USA amongst others.

More details about the Hackathon is available at the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab.
