{"id":1419,"date":"2014-09-24T15:41:01","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T15:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/greengreenwich\/?page_id=1419"},"modified":"2024-07-04T11:43:04","modified_gmt":"2024-07-04T10:43:04","slug":"get-involved","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/greengreenwich\/get-involved\/","title":{"rendered":"Get Involved"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.gre.ac.uk\/rep\/ef\/sustainability-engagement-plan\">Student and Staff Engagement Strategy<\/a> provides us with the clarity and plan to enable us to understand and utilise the many channels to communicate and engage with our stakeholders who can help us achieve our sustainability goals.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/b>Data supporting this will engagement data is included at the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are plenty of opportunities and ways to get involved, from helping on specific projects, to championing sustainable behaviour and the chance to transform your next idea into reality.&nbsp; <strong>Whether you are a student or staff member, there is something for you.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Check the &#8216;pull down&#8217; menu here for current opportunities and projects.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Engagement Data.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This dataset will be added to when the new data sets become available. This document (<a href=\"\/greengreenwich\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2018\/11\/TwitterEngagement-Data-for-website.png\">click here<\/a>) includes our Twitter engagement from the baseline year 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Implementing Your Idea &#8211; Project Proposals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University is seeking proposals from staff and students that can improve its sustainability performance. These can be ideas that reduce the energy usage of our buildings or equipment, ideas that help improve our student\u2019s experiences of nature or to improve our community allotment. Funds can be made available to support projects that meet key criteria as set out in the document below. A PDF of the project submission form can be&nbsp;<a href=\"\/greengreenwich\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/07\/Campus-Project-Template-UoG-Only-1-1.pdf\">downloaded here<\/a>. We would however like you to complete a Word version that is available by emailing sustainability@gre.ac.uk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funds for your projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University provides the Sustainability Team with funding to help deliver its sustainability goals. This covers the team (including student recruitment to projects such as End of Term Reuse, Student Switch Off), investments in energy, waste and water, biodiversity projects in addition learning and development around sustainability issues. It covers appropriate audit and professional costs including or our EMS and other works, memberships and subscriptions. It is also possible to allocate funds for staff and student projects. In the past this has included the\u00a0<a href=\"\/greengreenwich\/get-involved\/avery-hill-edible-garden\/\">Community Edible Garden<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"\/greengreenwich\/end-of-term-reuse-project\/\">The End of Term Reuse Programme<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In June 2023 the university launched with support from RSK five <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/articles\/public-relations\/rsk-partnership-project-living-labs2\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/articles\/public-relations\/rsk-partnership-project-living-labs2\">\u00a31,000 grants<\/a> for student living lab projects. The Sustainable Development Unit, in partnership with RSK, launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/articles\/public-relations\/biodiversity-monitoring-living-lab-at-avery-hill\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/articles\/public-relations\/biodiversity-monitoring-living-lab-at-avery-hill\">Biodiversity Monitoring Projec<\/a>t at the Avery Hill campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funds are also available for staff and students to develop specific projects via our\u00a0<a href=\"\/greengreenwich\/staff-and-student-project-proposals\/\">Proposals Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also check out funding opportunities with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/business\/generator\">Generato<\/a>r.
