Ethical Investment

To ensure that we are take ethical investment seriously the university decided rather than have a separate Ethical Investment Policy, it would instead integrate this fully within its core Long Term Investment Policy (Section 6 Responsible Investment Policy). This ensures that the progress we expect will be managed reviewed and governed in a far more effective way than having it as a supplementary policy. We consider this an improvement on our past Ethical Investment Policy.

This document  how sets out our Responsible Investment Policy and our ethical investment criteria that our investment managers must meet.
This policy was approved by the university’s Governing Body 24th November 2021 and is reviewed annually by the Finance Team and a formal review with the Finance Committee will be conducted every three years.

The Treasury Management Policy sets out how we manage short and medium term investments with the requirement to meet responsible investment principles (Section 7).
