Ethical Food and Fairtrade Fortnight 2018

For examples of outcomes of the Fairtrade Fortnight and Green Week activities click image below:

During the fortnight we’re hosting events around our campuses including food samples and tastings, free Fairtrade coffee, movie nights, expert talks and competitions.

The events aim to bring together students and staff and highlight the significance of our everyday food choices and the impacts that they can have on our environment, food producers and communities around the world.

For up-to-date information about the events  follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Get involved, be inspired and inspire others – together we can make our world a better place!

Throughout the fortnight we’ll highlight some of the most pressing current issues, from social and economic justice in trade to disposable packaging and plastics. You’ll learn how our university tackles these issues and maintains its leadership in responsible food provision.

We’ll also share simple tips you can take to make a positive difference to farmers, workers and the planet. We will help you recognise the importance of your spending choices and your consumer power which can be used to end exploitation, advocate fairness and make our food production system more sustainable.

This year we’re also going to host events for Green Week during 19 – 23 March to explore some of the broader environmental issues we are facing today.
