{"id":431,"date":"2013-04-22T10:11:38","date_gmt":"2013-04-22T10:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/?p=431"},"modified":"2013-04-22T10:11:38","modified_gmt":"2013-04-22T10:11:38","slug":"employers-scoop-prizes-for-gender-diversity-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/2013\/04\/22\/employers-scoop-prizes-for-gender-diversity-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Employers Scoop Prizes for Gender Diversity Work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2013\/04\/logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-433\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2013\/04\/logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>&#8216;Opportunity Now&#8217; has partnered with <em>The Times<\/em> to publish a \u2018Top 50 Employers for Women\u2019 list.<\/p>\n<p>All organisations within the Top 50 \u201cdemonstrate that gender equality is an integral part of their business strategy, with consistent commitment to progressing women in the workplace that covers their entire organisation, not just isolated areas,\u201d explained Opportunity Now.<\/p>\n<p>Entries were marked against a framework of best practice and assessed anonymously by a team of gender diversity experts.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/opportunitynow.bitc.org.uk\/thetimestop502013list\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alphabetical list<\/a> features UK employers from a wide range of sectors, such as Ernst &amp; Young, Google, HM Revenue &amp; Customs, Marks &amp; Spencer and Unilever.<\/p>\n<p>Ernst &amp; Young was recognised for its commitment to developing a female talent pipeline, and this year set a target that at least 30 per cent of all new UK partners are female.\u00a0Liz Bingham, Ernst &amp; Young\u2019s managing partner for people in the UK and Ireland said: \u201cDiversity is a business imperative.
