{"id":3482,"date":"2021-07-01T08:51:39","date_gmt":"2021-07-01T07:51:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/?p=3482"},"modified":"2024-08-29T12:37:20","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T11:37:20","slug":"inspirational-diversity-champion-of-the-month-38","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/2021\/07\/01\/inspirational-diversity-champion-of-the-month-38\/","title":{"rendered":"Inspirational Diversity Champion of the month"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/diversity\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2021\/07\/Fearne.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3483\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">24 July is the Samaritans annual awareness campaign \u2018Talk to Us\u2019 also known as the \u2018Big Listen\u2019 and with that in mind we have chosen Fearne Cotton as our Inspirational Diversity Champion of the Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fearne Cotton is an author and TV and radio presenter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is an ambassador for MIND the Mental Health Charity and lends her support to their major campaigns such as\u00a0RED January\u00a0and\u00a0Time to Talk Day, hosted their\u00a0Mind Media Awards\u00a0in 2017 and\u00a0has visited a local Mind\u00a0to learn about Mind\u2019s work within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She first publicly opened up about her experience of depression in 2017 before writing HAPPY, a book about finding joy in the everyday and letting go of perfection.
