if there is no space free there then delete some files (click start &#8211; my computer &#8211; look at &#8220;G&#8221; drive). \u00a0Look in your documents folder, desktop etc. Delete or move files so that G drive does not show red.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/g-drive.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-349\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/g-drive.jpg\" alt=\"g-drive\" width=\"508\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/g-drive.jpg 508w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/g-drive-300x182.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Start &#8211; Computer<br \/>\nIf your G Drive shows up in red then you are too low on space<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[divider]<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Issue: Nothing is printing, but the PCounter\u00a0Popup window telling you the print cost\u00a0*DOES* appear<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Solution: CHECK BALANCE has credit (you can check by\u00a0trying to print an a4 and watch what the popup says; then cancel the print).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Note: if your print is going to cost more than what is in your account then it will NOT print your file. \u00a0If you then top up your account you will have to send it again.<\/p>\n<p>[divider]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Issue: The correct printer \/\u00a0plotter does not\u00a0appear in the drop down list:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Solution: Printers are meant to be setup on login; if this doesn&#8217;t happen you can force them in using this method:<\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Press the Windows Start button<br \/>\n&#8211; In the\u00a0<em>search programs and files\u00a0<\/em>text area type \\\\GM-PS-N<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-273\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/fachsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/gm-ps-n-300x132.jpg\" alt=\"gm-ps-n\" width=\"300\" height=\"132\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/gm-ps-n-300x132.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/gm-ps-n.jpg 302w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; This brings up a window with a list of lots of print queues &#8211; in the top right hand search windows type DST<br \/>\n&#8211; This shows only the printers in the print area; double click the one you want to print to<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/printer-list.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-352\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/printer-list.jpg\" alt=\"printer-list\" width=\"470\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/printer-list.jpg 470w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/printer-list-300x172.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; The printer queue is installed and will now be available from the print choose drop down menu<br \/>\n&#8211; NOTE: to add the A3\/A4 colour \/ mono MFD printer type in MFD into the printer search windows instead of DST and choose the printer GM-MFD-STU-COLOUR<\/p>\n<p>[divider]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Issue: Printing files\u00a0from Windows Photo Viewer but image prints out small in the corner<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><em><em><em><em>Solution:\u00a0always\u00a0<strong>untick<\/strong> the Fit Picture to Frame click box<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/dont-fit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-358\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/dont-fit.jpg\" alt=\"dont-fit\" width=\"375\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/dont-fit.jpg 375w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/dont-fit-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[divider]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Issue: PDF not plotting at all \/ plotting with chunks of graphics missing but taking money<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><em><em><em>Solution: Complex or large PDF files can be cause problems for printing; e.g. if they have many layers in them.\u00a0 Tricks to get around problem PDFs include:<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; In Adobe Acrobat\u00a0from the print dialogue select Advanced then Print as Image<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/print-as-image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-360\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/print-as-image.jpg\" alt=\"print-as-image\" width=\"260\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/print-as-image.jpg 260w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/10\/print-as-image-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; In extreme cases you can drag the PDF file into Photoshop.\u00a0 This will rasterise it to make it a flat image (if you keep the resolution at 300dpi there will be no loss of quality or sharpness).<\/p>\n<p>[divider]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Issue: Sheet feed plotter \u2013 someone\u2019s file is ready to print but they are not there to print it and someone else is waiting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><em><em><em><em>Solution: if\u00a0someone has a job\u00a0ready to go but they have not come to feed the paper\u00a0then please wait at least 10 minutes for them to come back.
