{"id":1537,"date":"2018-02-21T15:28:07","date_gmt":"2018-02-21T15:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/fachsupport\/?p=1537"},"modified":"2018-02-21T15:28:07","modified_gmt":"2018-02-21T15:28:07","slug":"end-of-year-submissions-2018-plotting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/2018\/02\/21\/end-of-year-submissions-2018-plotting\/","title":{"rendered":"End of Year Submissions 2018 :: Plotting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dear Student<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In anticipation of the exceptional demand for plotting and printing in final submission week in May we would like to make you aware of some important information and advice:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Iterative \/ Deliberated Portfolio Content<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You should be looking to build your portfolio throughout the year and NOT routinely printing, or reprinting the entire contents for final submission.\u00a0 Critical review of your portfolio BEFORE printing is essential in terms of establishing if each particular page is necessary, and is correct (reprinting wastes time, money, effort, media).<\/p>\n<p>Print early where possible: the two high volume plotters in Stockwell Street Library and Studio are very capable machines but simply cannot process every student\u2019s entire portfolio with a few days.<\/p>\n<p>Time management regarding plotting and submitting is an important skill you must learn; busy plotters are not a valid reason for late submission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Early-bird \u201cPlot Slam\u201d Offer: 35% Price Reduction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be offering the opportunity of discounted batch printing for a three-day period in the preceding week for properly formatted and submitted files:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May 1\/2\/3 2018; 10.00AM \u2013 4.00PM<\/li>\n<li>Oce Colourwave 700 plotter (the 5 standard loaded media types)<\/li>\n<li>PDF file containing correctly formatted \/ sized pages for printing per media type.<\/li>\n<li>Submitted to Phil Hudson on USB at studio support office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If there are sufficient funds in your account then the files will be sent direct to the plotter and your account adjusted accordingly.<\/p>\n<p><em>Discount for early batch printing : 35% reduction of Colourwave plot prices<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Note: Offer does not include sheet feed plotter or A3 printers.\u00a0 Proper formatting and preparation is student\u2019s own responsibility; no refunds.\u00a0 Standard sizes only; \u201clong plots\u201d must be processed separately.
