It can be fiddly to sign up but it is VERY worthwhile &#8211; you get a huge amount of software and services if you have a proper Autodesk ID.  Here is their video showing how to sign up<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/UCMM8kE7QQ4\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Adobe<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/adobe.com\">adobe.com<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Photoshop<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Illustrator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>InDesign<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Premiere<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After Effects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and many more products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University makes this software available to students on approved courses at the School of Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sign in at Adobe.com with user ID as in short format; e.g<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">                 ab123c@gre.ac.uk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">note: @GRE not @GREENWICH<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use your current university password<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If prompted select  COMPANY OR SCHOOL ACCOUNT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/it-and-library\/software\/adobe-creative-cloud\">install instructions here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Microsoft Office<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/\">login.microsoftonline.com<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Word<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Powerpoint<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OneDrive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and many more products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The full Microsoft suite of programs is available to all University students.  You can download Office 365 Pro Plus software by logging in using your&nbsp;University Account (username@gre.ac.uk)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OneDrive is <strong>very<\/strong> useful for storing up to 1TB of data &#8211; which is accessible both in Uni and at home either via the full app or just via a browser interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/it-and-library\/software\/microsoft-365\">More information here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rhino 3d<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhino3d.com\/download\">www.rhino3d.com\/download<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do have a pool of Rhino licenses that can be used on home machines \/ laptops outside the Uni. This will work on both the PC and Mac versions of Rhino 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To install first download the latest Windows or Mac version here<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhino3d.com\/download\/rhino-for-windows\/8\/latest\">https:\/\/www.rhino3d.com\/download\/rhino-for-windows\/8\/latest<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On first run you will need to license the software via a login &#8211; use your short userID@gre.ac.uk (Not &#8220;@greenwich&#8221;), e.g. ab123@gre.ac.uk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"624\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino-1024x624.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3721\" style=\"width:509px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino-1024x624.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino-300x183.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino-768x468.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino-575x350.jpg 575w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino-150x91.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.gre.ac.uk\/designsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/rhino.jpg 1187w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will take you to the Uni login pages for validation and MFA authorisation &#8211; and then back to Rhino<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep an eye on all the userID logins &#8211; and ensure that they are all the same Uni shortID@gre.ac.uk; if you&#8217;ve used Rhino before as a trial then an older existing user account might automatically fill in here and stop the license validation going through properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>VRay:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaosgroup.com\/download-free-trials\">www.chaosgroup.com\/download-free-trials<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The VRay rendering plugin is available for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3D Studio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rhino &#8211; PC only (no Mac version available) &#8211; Needs Rhino 7.30 <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sketchup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maya<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chaos do offer 30 day free trials if you sign up at the Chaos site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><i>Notes: The licensing process is a little fiddly &#8211; after install you need to run &#8220;Manage chaos license server&#8221; to open a browser window, click Online Licensing and sign in with your Chaos ID to authorise all the Vray license<\/i>s you may be using on your machine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rhino<\/strong> (and <strong>V-Ray)<\/strong> is also available via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/it-and-library\/connect\/studentdesktop\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/it-and-library\/connect\/studentdesktop\">the UoG Remote Desktop<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sketchup PRO:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sketchup.com\/plans-and-pricing\/sketchup-pro\">www.sketchup.com<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are no free Sketchup Pro licenses available but you can get a 30 day trial version from their site.
