Congratulations and\u00a0commiserations\u00a0to the team who attempted to put together the world’s largest paper house, to celebrate the London Festival of Architecture. \u00a0Unfortunately the structure did not survive being fully inflated for very long.<\/p>\n

Luke Olsen, Diploma Coordinator of Architecture Technology and Paper House event organiser says:<\/p>\n

“Making innovative architecture means taking risks. Queens Paper House MK2 aspired to be the worlds largest paper building and it so nearly made it. The building inflated close to full size before a sudden cut in power to the fans followed by a strong gust of wind caused the building to turn in on itself and effectively become a sail – sheering the walls from the floor along the designed in tear line.\u00a0\u00a0This was both spectacular and informative at the same time. We will endeavour to rectify this design fault…<\/em><\/p>\n

A hearty congratulations to the students, teachers and consultants who’s tireless dedication and heroic effort made this happen.”<\/em><\/p>\n
