Free\u00a0Workshop for Research Students on C18 and C19 Periodicals \u00a0Tuesday 14 June 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

University of Greenwich, Queen Anne building, room 210, 10am – 5pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Research students covering any aspect of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century periodicals are warmly welcomed to an all-day workshop exploring the problems\u00a0and advantages\u00a0of working with periodicals.<\/p>\n

In the morning participants will present short papers outlining their research and the place\u00a0of periodicals in\u00a0it, with emphasis on methodological problems they face.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, we’ll seek to answer some of those problems by working with periodicals students might not be\u00a0familiar with, using that experience to think through the issues raised in the morning.<\/p>\n

A vegetarian lunch will be provided, along with the usual tea\/ coffee on arrival and in the afternoon, with a wine reception in the evening.<\/p>\n

Participants are asked to register before 1 May but registration may close before that as places are limited.<\/p>\n

After registration, we’ll be in touch to ask you for a short bio and an abstract. The latter is only so we learn in advance what kinds of issues you want addressed and prepare accordingly: this isn’t a formal conference. Note also that you will be expected to participate actively: the day will not comprise a series of lectures.<\/p>\n
