The Sustainability Management System has wide ranging implications for everyone’s day to day roles and the extent of these will depend very much on the role that you do.
These are very prevalent in roles which are operational but there are potential areas within the SMS that may be of interest to all.
Below are some resources that are being developed for all members of the University community but are of particular use to operational staff whose activities have a potential to cause an environmental impact. This will include transport, building services, maintenance, cleaning and portering staff, local campus FM staff and security; as well as procurers from across the University; ILS and lab technicians throughout the faculties.
If you hold an operational role within the University and are not sure if and/or how the SMS applies to you then please get in touch with Emily Mason at firstname.lastname@example.org. The SMS is currently compulsory for all Estates and Facilities staff and their contractors. The resources below will be added to over time.If there is anything you would like to see here please get in touch.
