About Design Roast Open Lecture series

The Design Roast is a new open discussion group for anyone interested in creative design practices and theories of cross-disciplinarity, interactive design, new media technologies, visual communication and philosophies of the state-of-the current and future design.

The idea is derived from  “The Thursday Club” – Goldsmith’s, University of London- founded by  professor Janis Jefferies in 2005.
The Design Roast series is supported by the Design Futures Department, School of Architecture, Design & Construction and organised by Anastasios Maragiannis, Senior Lecturer in Design Futures Department.
Regular meetings will take place in physical space at the Queen Ann site of Greenwich University, Old Royal Naval College. By keeping these meetings free, informal and open to all, we provide a platform for diverse and open ended discourse, for students, and creative people who perhaps would not have the opportunity to discuss ideas outside of their chosen disciplines.
The Design Roast series will bring together people from diverse fields and degrees of expertise, aiming to initiate discussions and debates among postgraduate students, researchers, academics, artists, theorists, designers and other creative practitioners.
