Paul is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers where he has lectured and presented papers and has also tutored at the Architectural Association and is currently a unit teacher for KTH in Stockholm.

He has worked on a broad range of projects with experience in numerous different materials, structural types and innovative design including the Cambridge Law Library, Lloyds Register of Shipping, Palais de Justice, France, Inland Revenue, Nottingham and the pontoon footbridge at Canary Wharf which uses water pressure to stabilise the structure. Other projects include more recently, The Angel Building for Derwent London and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology with Foster and Partners, which has been at the forefront of sustainable design and construction.
